Description

A manual wind, pink gold plated stainless steel Aetos triple date, moonphase watch. A very handsome and rare complicated watch, presented here in "New Old Stock" condition. This lesser known Swiss watch brand made a number of elegant dress watches, and even a few dive watches using the famed piquerez cases used by watches like the Polaris.

This triple date watch with moonphase window would have not looked out of place in a Vacheron Constantin display from the period. Beautifully designed, clean and elegant, this watch has everything needed, and at the time was a very complicated piece of horology. The day of the week and month are displayed just below the 12 o'clock marker. A subsidiary seconds dial is set just above the 6 o'clock marker, revolving over the moonphase window. Around the outer ring of the dial is the handsome blue printed date ring picked out by the small arrowed headed date hand. The time is displayed using classic dauphine hands, the likes of which one would find on a Patek Philippe Calatrava.

Another elegant and unusual feature to this watch is the pink, or rose, gold plating to the case. Normally plating would have been done in yellow gold, so to find an example in this hue is rare. The condition of this watch is unused and superb throughout. Considering they were acquired in 1968 by "Société Suisse pour l'Industrie SA Horlogère" (SSIH) which in turn was the result of a merger in 1930 between Omega and Tissot, the watch would be mid 1960's at its earliest.
