A stainless steel automatic Mido Multifort watch.  This beautiful little vintage gem maybe on the smaller side, but it is mighty!  This stunning copper and black dial is marked out with Arabic numerals, and with its original syringe style hands, all filled with original Radium luminous material.  The watch also has the added complication of a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position.

Inside the screw back case is a bumper wind caliber 816 self winding movement.  This caliber is based on an exclusive from movement maker A Schild, from their AS 1081, and made exclusively for Mido.  It began its life in 1935 and remained in the line for Mido until 1951.  They made a center sweep version, along with this more complicated sub seconds version.

The watch dates to the late 1930’s early 1940’s and very much has an Art Deco style to it.  There is wear and patina, but nothing out of the oridainry.  It is unpolished and great looking.  The case measures just under 30mm, so it is more on the small side, but is so full of character.
