Meet Bob. A Harvard graduate (Class of ’68) with a lifelong passion for Ivy style, Bob oversees the production of our world-famous Oxford cloth button-down (“O.C.B.D.”) shirts at what is one of the last shirt factories in Massachusetts, or indeed in the United States.
Even in his student days, Bob was always more interested in classic American menswear than he was in his textbooks and classes. Today, he is a pillar of J. Press’ robust Made-in-U.S.A. offering.
The factory has remained in continuous operation for over 80 years, even as other brands have abandoned the American-made Oxford shirt and moved all, or nearly all, of their shirt production offshore, and neighboring textile mills and other shirt factories across the U.S. have shuttered as a result.
Bob and the team of experts with whom he works continue a J. Press legacy established generations ago, using traditional construction and techniques to create honest, timeless American-made Oxford shirts born of the human touch.
