A Message from Richard Press

As we stand at the threshold of 2026 (J. Press' 124th year!), I look at the exciting things happening at J. Press and can't help but think that my grandfather, founder Jacobi Press, would be bursting his buttons with pride. He established our family company to outfit the men of Yale and beyond in the finest tailoring and in classic American sportswear - the look which would, only later, become known as "Ivy style." I know he'd be proud of how his vision is being fulfilled today. J. Press has always been the more academic, more colorful, and yet also more classic cousin of its more dour, office-oriented peers. And J. Press has always innovated within the realm of the classics.

With Dr. Jack Carlson (an Oxford man) at the helm, J. Press is as committed to the classics as ever — producing more in the U.S., England, and Scotland than ever before, restoring long-lost Press staples like the patch-pocket blazer and the original O.C.B.D. collar roll, and safeguarding the Made-in-Scotland Shaggy Dog sweater and Made-in-U.S.A. khaki pants for another generation. We also have a brilliant new website, top- drawer campaigns and photoshoots, as well as rave reviews for our first runway show at New York Fashion Week: a fitting honor for the last bastion of classic American Ivy style. I know grandpa would be as pleased as I am.

Without your faithful patronage of J. Press, we wouldn't be here. So, in addition to raising a cup of kindness to auld lang syne, we're raising a glass to you. Thank you and Happy New Year!
