J. Press Icons

Represented by some of our favorite style personalities, J. Press Icons features seasonal staples that are a necessity to every wardrobe.

Griffin Santopietro

Griffin Santopietro is an actor, writer, content creator, and aspiring style icon. He is now studying as an undergraduate at Yale University pursuing his love for performance and other interests.

“Growing up in New England, I have always admired classic preppy style. I find myself looking to the great actors of the past for inspiration; Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford all offer lessons in both performance and style. I want to be a part of their legacy of classic suiting with Americana flare. J Press provides everything I need to develop my own personal style. From vintage inspired suits to contemporary outerwear, the J. Press brand has something for everyone trying to become their own style icon.”

Z.G. Burnett

Z.G. Burnett (Zoë, in person) is a writer, artist, and regular seller at Alfargo's Menswear Marketplace. Some may recognize her shop's namesake, Ramsey of Ram's Head Vintage. Z.G.'s work appears in Antiques and the Arts Weekly and in her Substack,The Preppy Witch Handbook.

"The J. Press at 82 Mount Auburn Street in Harvard Square was a foundational resource in my dressing education. Seeing, touching, and even smelling fine tailoring material became invaluable when building my own wardrobe and sourcing vintage men's gems. Mine is a woman's life of multiplicity, but with J. Press's timeless style and unwavering quality, I can at least aspire to sartorial simplicity."

Ontario Armstrong

Ontario Armstrong is a digital creator and Creative Director of the print publication No Chaser Magazine.

"I’ve been a huge fan of J.Press for many years. What I appreciate most about the brand is its amazing ability to evolve with the changing fashion landscape while remaining true to its core identity. This balance of tradition and innovation not only connects with loyal customers but also attracts a new generation of men who appreciate style."

Brandon Mitchell

Brandon Mitchell heads marketing at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, an educational nonprofit dedicated to the contemporary practice of traditional architecture, design, and placemaking, which is conveniently located just down the street from J. Press’s New York shop on West 44th Street.

"Dressing is a joy. Dressing for the city, doubly. Whether or not clothes make the man, they at least make this man select his watering hole according to the threads on his back. Knits, tweeds, and flannels might entice me to a beer or two at Ear Inn, while a pinstripe suit and pinned tie is sure to shoot me straight into the Monkey Bar for a martini. (I want it on record that I’d sit at Jimmy’s Corner in anything from a boiler suit to white tie and tails.)

I can’t conceive of New York City without sack suits, navy blazers, and button-down (or tab!) collars, and J. Press remains the ne plus ultra of the aesthetic. Incidentally, although a navy blazer is versatile and so often dressed down, I love wearing it at its stuffiest. There’s that Dick Carroll (hi Dick!) illustration of Upper West Side and Upper East Side style. I’m definitely East. I’m usually dressing for that martini after all."
