Schweppes was founded in 1783 by Jacob Schweppe, who was a pioneer in carbonating water. Known for tonic water and ginger ale, Schweppes was the official drink of the 1851 Great Exhibition in London.

Ashtray features the Schweppes coat of arms with various characters like a cricket player, a lion wearing a hat holding and umbrella and briefcase, a gentleman wearing a green plaid and hat, and two dogs. 
Ashtray reads: "Tonic Mixer Schweppervescentia Prorsus Totum Potum Durat Bitter Lemon MDCCXCIV"
Bottom reads: "The Schweppeshire Arms"
