Winning The Pennant

Winning The Pennant

A selfie of yours truly pictured in a J. Press Pennant Label Dartmouth Varsity Letter Jacket belies the truth. My athletic participation in Hanover 64 years ago was limited to hoisting kegs in the cellar of my beloved fraternity directly across the street from the gym and the Big Green football stadium.

My pseudo-collegiate masquerade occurred at the free-standing J. Press Pennant Label Store prior to its upcoming opening at 501 Madison Avenue along with equivalent Pennant Label shops in our New Haven and Washington DC stores. Our Pennant Label offers a fresh take on trad classics with a trim fit and “broken-in” vintage sensibility while maintaining the authentic signature details of our heritage line.

The collection includes tailored clothing: suits, blazers, sport coats and sportswear featuring expanded selections of sweaters, OCBDs, chinos with rear cinch belt, 5 pocket trousers, polos, Henleys, Rugby shirts.

A full range of University apparel kicks off our own historically accurate Campus Store #101. A full range of varsity jackets, cardigans, hoodies, tees, sweatshirts, many inscribed with college identification, pass final exams cum laude

Bright college years, with pleasure rife, the shortest gladdest years of life works for this Dartmouth ‘59er costumed in J. Press Pennant Label as if he were a kid again. Laugh if you will.

You are a class act, sir! Thank you for selflessly staying in the game by routinely sharing these excellent blogs with others when you could focus, instead, upon yourself and retire. Here’s hoping you never do!

I also enjoy these recollections. Go big green. Reminiscent needn’t be Neanderthal. And I’m a big admirer of the clothes, from my law school years in New Haven.

Dear Mr. Press,
I admire your candor. My secret hope is that should God grant me entry into his heavenly kingdom, he may restore my body with the cardigan letter sweater I earned in golf in high school!

Cool photo. I have a Harris tweed J Press jacket I
Purchased at the Cambridge store in 1963. I was a student at Babson College at the time. I still wear the jacket and smile. My grandchildren love it and cannot imagine that it’s 60 years old and looks great and still
Fits
Really miss the Cambridge store.
