A solid eighteen carat yellow gold dress watch from Piaget. This is perhaps one of the most classic form of “dress” watch that has been designed. This “Calatrava” style of watch is very appealing to even the most discerning of eyes.

The dial is clean, uncluttered and elegant with the most elegant dial layout. Simple solid gold applied fine baton markers pick out each hour, only broken at the 6 o’clock position where there is the inclusion of the added complication of a subsidiary seconds. The dial cooler is a classic glossy light silver tone which catches light beautifully. Below the 6 o'clock marker is the "Swiss" mark for Swiss made. Being a dress watch, there is no luminous material applied. The dial is all original and not re-finished and free from any damage or discolouration. There are a few tiny spots visible only via a magnifying loop, mentioned for transparency.

The solid gold snap back case is in excellent condition, and unpolished as all the lines of the case remain very strong, with no edges softened, as can quite often be the case.

The watch is powered by the Peseux 320 caliber movement made for Piaget. One of the most successful, and attractive flat hand winding movements made. A 17 jewel, pallet lever movement that was contracted and used by a large number of watch makers from the 1950’s all the way through to the 1970’s, a hard working and reliable caliber that works beautifully in this lovely Piaget.

The watch is in excellent condition throughout.  Keeping great time, and really represents an opportunity to have a vintage watch that is both handsome and durable, all the while looking beautiful on wrist. As we see the Piaget brand go form strength to strength again, after a long time in relative obscurity, this is a chance to own a superb vintage original.
