A solid 18k yellow gold, manually wound Longines Flagship model. This is a very clean and elegant well proportioned watch from one of the best names to do it. The flagship line was launched by Longines in 1957, making this one of the first examples out of the factory. As it sounds, the Flagship line was a high quality line that helped drive the brand into tine only high end watch space. The beautifully made, simple case is thick and quite heavy with clean, angled, dropped lugs supporting a clean and fine smooth bezel. The case back is adorned with the Flagship logo, very similar to what Omega did with the Constellation and Seamaster line, there is a stunning galleon ship cast into the snap back case back.
The watch is powered by the high quality Longines 30LS movement. A manual wind, 17 jewel, 18,000bph movement with a weighted balance wheel and a sub seconds pinion. When new, fully wound, it would deliver 42-hour power reserve. Strong, accurate, and reliable it remained in the line from 1955 to 1967 proving a reliable workhorse for over a decade.
The watch is in superb condition overall with excellent original dial. The case remains in excellent condition, having not been polished over the years, so sharp and clean lines throughout. If you are looking for a reliable, handsome and clean gold time only watch, it is hard to think of a better watch for the money.
