A solid 18k yellow gold three hand Omega Deville.  This is a handsome dress watch from one of the finest names in Swiss watch making.  Omega, a brand synonymous with groundbreaking sports watches like the Speedmaster and Seamaster, also offers the elegant Omega De Ville collection. This series, initially part of the Seamaster line, has since emerged as a distinct entity known for its refined aesthetics and masterful craftsmanship.

In contrast to Omega's robust sports models, the De Ville collection provides a sophisticated alternative that appeals to those who value understated elegance combined with contemporary design. Its diverse ensemble of models caters to the refined tastes of watch enthusiasts, showcasing a seamless blend of traditional watchmaking and modern style.

The De Ville line stands as a testament to Omega's versatility in creating timepieces that are not only technically proficient, but also aesthetically resplendent. 

Omega's decision to create the De Ville as an independent collection was driven by the growing popularity of dive watches in the 1950s and 1960s. This trend prompted Omega to develop the Seamaster collection as a dedicated sports watch line.

In 1967, Omega recognized the unique identity and commercial potential of the De Ville, launching it as a standalone collection. This strategic move not only signified the series' growing popularity, but also marked a diversification in Omega's product range, catering to a broader audience.
The 1970s further cemented the De Ville's reputation, as the line garnered numerous design awards that underscored Omega's ability to merge artistic design with exceptional watchmaking.

A significant milestone was reached in 1994 when Omega introduced its first tourbillon model within the De Ville collection. This bold move demonstrated the brand's technical expertise and commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking.

It was around this time that this model came into being.  A very simple and clean solid 18k yellow gold case with straight, and short drop lugs, frames this beautifully made engine turned gold dial.  It is unusual as the outer part of the dial is also turned using a different pattern to the center, adding an additional touch of detailing.  The are holding the allied mix of Roman numerals and stick markers is contrasting with its clean  smooth area framing the printed minute track.

The watch is in excellent original condition.  The case is unpolished and features the unusual Deville logo on the case back, along with all relevant serial numbers and hallmarks.  The watch is complete with original signed Omega band and gold buckle.
